District School Board Ontario North East was formed by amalgamating six school boards located in Hearst, Kapuskasing, Iroquois Falls, Timmins, Kirkland Lake and New Liskeard. We are located in the greatest mineral producing and lumbering area in the Western Hemisphere. To the south in the Timiskaming area, you will find an economy dominated by agriculture and manufacturing. No where else in Ontario will you find a better quality of life or a more diversified economy. We offer the amenities of a large city and the quality of life found in a small town.
