Dzawada'enuxw First Nation Info

Kingcome Inlet is a small, remote First Nation's village located on the mainland, in the most beautiful valley, surrounded by mountains and a river running through it. It lies in the traditional territory of the 'Musgamaux Tsawataineuk ( 4 Tribes of Kingcome). It is a close knit community, which holds fast to its traditional way-of-life (Potlatch system), but also embraces the contemporary and traditional ways of educating its children. Kingcome has a high percentage of high-school graduates, and a high percentage of post-secondary graduates. Kingcome has just completed the building of a new Bighouse, which is located next to the school (Lilawagila School) and the children enjoy the opportunities of going to learn the songs, dances and legends. As a teacher, it will be an opportunity for you to also be taught the way-of-life of a traditional people.

The nearest port of entry to the community is from Port McNeill on Vancouver Island. Accessible only by:
X Seaplane: scheduled flights from Port McNeil and Campbell River on Vancouver Island
X Water Taxi is on an as- needed basis from Port McNeil on Vancouver Island
