Kivalliq School Operations in Nunavut oversees the operation of twelve schools in seven communities in Canada's newest territory. School programs in each community offer quality schooling from Kindergarten to Grade 12. Approximately 2900 students attend the Kivalliq schools. Over 95% of students are Inuit and most come to school speaking Inuktitut as their first language.
The region is committed to the following principles:
- the promotion of the Inuktitut language and Inuit culture in the schools,
- the local control of education through the community based District Education Authority,
- student centred education which is culturally relevant and supportive for all students.
The Government of Nunavut is committed to a more representative workforce to best serve the needs of Nunavummiut. Priority will be given to Land Claims Beneficiaries.

Subsidized government housing may be provided however sharing may also be required.
