Government of Nunavut, Department of Education, Kitikmeot Region Info

At the top of the map of Canada, in an area roughly stretching from Alberta to Manitoba, you will find the Kitikmeot region with the five communities that are educationally administered by Kitikmeot School Operations: Kugluktuk, Cambridge Bay, Gjoa Haven, Taloyoak, and Kugaaruk.

The character of the communities is as varied as the weather but each has deep roots in cultural practices and awareness. The Inuktitut and Inuinnaqtun languages and cultural practices exist side by side with English, southern educational standards, and very well equipped and designed schools.
