Missabay Community School Info

The Community of Mishkeegogamang First Nation (New Osnaburgh) is a drive-in community 30 kilometers south of Pickle Lake. It is about a 5 hour drive on paved highway from Thunder Bay. We are approximately 2 hours from Sioux Lookout by paved highway.

It is a full service community of approximately 900 people. The Ojibway people have a Nursing Station and Police Station. Most shopping is done in Pickle Lake, a 20 minute drive.

The school population is approximately 160 students from Grades Junior Kindergarten to 8. Its maximum capacity is approximately 250 students.

In addition to the school curriculum, the school offers Special Education, Native Language, Cultural Education, and a Breakfast & Lunch Program to its students.
